Main Milestones in the History of Our Company
1919
The two young businessmen Walter Bühner and Paul Berghöfer founded their company under the name of "Drogen - Chemikalien - Agentur und Kommission chem.-pharm., kosmet. und techn. Spezialitäten". Entry in the commercial register was made in 1920 under the designation Bühner & Berghöfer.
The founders of the company had a very clear idea of what they intended: they planned to prepare active substances from proven herbs and to use these to develop modern, reliable preparations. An idea which led, in the end, to the firm of roha arzneimittel GmbH, with registered address in Bremen.
1930
The start signal to a success story: launch of the brand "Bekunis“ with Bekunis Herbal Tea (initially available in a paper bag, but as from 1934 in the classical Bekunis box).
1934
Walter Bühner, who suffered from a stomach disorder, developed a stomach-strengthening salt named "Roba-Salz“ [Roba Salt] (later renamed "Roha-Salz") that not only helped him, but also others suffering from similar complaints.
1935
The company moves to Bremen Oberneuland, where it has remained ever since.
1936
Purchase of the registered trademark "Roha".
1953
Renaming of the company as Roha-Werk Walter Bühner & Co.
1955
Launch of Bekunis Dragées.
1975
Entry of the subsidiary Heilshorner Naturheilmittel GmbH, located in Heilshorn, in the commercial register.
1977
The associate Mrs. Bühner and thereby the family Bühner leaves the company. Later, as a consequence, the company was again renamed, this time as roha arzneimittel GmbH.
1984
Takeover of Zirkulin Naturheilmittelwerke GmbH and development of a wide range of products under the trademark "Zirkulin", successful in drugstores up to the present day.
2007
Takeover of Börner GmbH with the trademark "Sanhelios", sold exclusively in pharmacies, and "Bakanasan", sold exclusively in health food shops.
